Cabbage Soup Recipe
Ingredients:
6 large green onions
2 green peppers
1 or 2 cans of diced or whole tomatoes
3 carrots
1 container of mushrooms
1 bunch of celery (sliced)
1 pkg of lipton soup mix
1 or 2 cubes of bouillon (optional)
1 48oz can of V8 juice (optional)
season to taste with salt, pepper, parsley, curry, garlic powder, etc.
Cabbage Soup Cooking Directions
This is the basic cabbage soup diet recipe. You can modify it as you like so you don't get bored of the same soup for 7 days.
Slice green onions and sauté with cooking spray in a pot.
Cut the green pepper stem end off, chop in half. Remove seeds and the membrane. Chop green pepper into bits and add to the pot.
Remove the outer leaves of the cabbage then cut into small bite size pieces and add to the pot.
Clean carrots, cut into bite size pieces and add to the pot.
Slice mushrooms into thick slices and add to the pot.
For a spicy soup, you could add a bit of curry or cayenne pepper at this point.
Use the bouillon cubes (beef or chicken) for seasoning - they already have all the salt and flavors you will need.
Use about 12 cups of water (or 8 cups plus the V8 juice), cover and put on low heat. Let soup cook for about 1½ - 2 hours. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Enjoy with meal plan for the day.

Sorry, but in the recipe itself, the cabbage has been left out - how much cabbage should we use???
