- Greetings From Asbury Park, N.J. (1973)
After signing to Columbia Records in 1972, Springsteen and some of his New Jersey based musician friends formed the E Street Band and made his debut album "Greetings From Ashbury Park, N.J" which was released on Jan 5, 1973.

Released on Sept 11, 1973, Bruce's second album featured the still un-named E Street Band. The album was ranked by Rolling Stone as one of the greatest albums of Rock and Roll but Bruce was yet to find commercial success.
His song Rosalita from "The Wild.." was one of the most requested concert songs during the first 10 years of his career.

Born To Run was released on Aug 25, 1975. It would be the album that launched Bruce Springsteens career and established his mainstream fanbased.
Like his previous albums, his 3rd was also a critical success and Rolling Stone would rank Born To Run at #18 on its list of all time greatest albums.
Born To Run, Bruce's 2nd best selling album with the best being the later released Born In the USA peaked at #3 on Billboards Album charts and to date has sold more than 6 million copies in the USA.

Released on June 2, 1978, Darkness on the Edge of Town, Bruce Springsteen's 4th album was less commercial than Born To Run. The album produced a lot of unused material in order to keep a tight theme. This caused "Darkness.." to not have any hit singles but many hardcore Springsteen fans consider this to be his finest album.
Most of the unused material either ended up becoming hit songs for other artists or ended up on his next album.

Bruce Springsteen's 5th album, The River, was released on Oct 10, 1980. The album largely contained of leftovers from his previous album, Darkness on the Edge of Town.
The River became Springsteen's first #1 album and is his 3rd best selling studio album with over 5 million copies shipped. The single, Hungry Heat would also become Springsteen's first top 10 single peaking at #5.
During 1980 and 1981 Springsteen followed up The River with a tour of North America and Western Europe, performing songs such as Ramrod, Cadillac Ranch and Out in the Street which would later become concert staples.

Springsteen's 6th album was released as the original demo version on Sept 20, 1982. The producers had decided that Springsteen's recordings felt different when they were done with the EStreet band in the Studio so they experimented to preserve the raw feeling of the demo and released that instead.
The album was met with a lukewarm reception by the public but was a critical success for Springsteen.

Born in the U.S.A was released on June 4, 1984. Springsteen's 7th studio album reached #1 on the Billboard Album charts and had a record tying 7 top 10 singles. Born in the U.S.A became Bruce Springsteen's best selling album, selling more than 15 million copies in the USA.
Dancing in the Dark became Springsteen's biggest single when it hit #2 on Billboard Hot 100 charts.
As much a commercial success, Born in the USA was also a critical success. The album was followed by the huge Born In The USA tour.

Springsteen's 8th studio album was released on Oct 9, 1987. Tunnel of Love became his 4th #1 album and sold more than 3 million copies.
This would be his last album of the '80s and his last with the E Street band as a band until later in his career.

After his #1 multiplatinum selling Greatest Hits album was released in Feb 1995, Springsteen followed it up with his 11th studio album The Ghost of Tom Joad which was released on Nov 21, 1995.
Since his previous albums in 1992, he had won a Grammy and an Oscar for his contribution, Streets of Philadelphia from the soundtrack for the movie Philadelphia, and released the single Secret Garden which would appear two years later on the Jerry Maguire soundtrack.
The Ghost of Tom Joad acoustic guitar backed romp which was inspired by John Steinbeck's Grapes of Wrath hero. His "Ghost..." Tour followed with Springsteen performing his solo acoustic set.

Bruce Springsteen's 12th studio album was released on July 30, 2002 following releases of 3 compilations - Tracks, 18 Tracks and Live in New York City. This album was released as Springsteen's reflection on the Sept 11, 2001 terrorist attack on the US.
Critical and commercial success followed and Springsteen earned a Grammy for Best Rock Album the following year. The Rising also marked the return of The E Street Band - their first album with The Boss in 18 years.

Springsteen's 13th studio album, Devil and Dust, was released April 26, 2005. The album was another folk album much like Nebraska and The Ghost of Tom Joad. Many of the songs on this album had been made decades earlier.
Devils and Dust recieved 5 Grammy awards and was also another #1 selling album.

Springsteen released his 14th album and 2nd consecutive non-rock album on April 25, 2006. The album was his first non original work and was based on his interpretation of folk musician Pete Seeger's work.
We Shall Overcome... was a critical success but only manages to achieve gold certification for the 600,000 copies it sold.
The album was reissued later in 2006 as the American Land Edition with 5 more tracks that Bruce had been performing on tour. The album won Springsteen another Grammy Award for Best Traditional Folk Album.

Bruce Springsteen's latest, his 25th offering and 15th studio album was released on October 2, 2007. It debuted at #1 and stayed there for 2 weeks on Billboards 200 Album Charts.
The E Street Band also returned for their first album since The Rising and gave the album its familiar sound.
Sprinsteen is currently touring with the band.
